Elias Steiner holds a BA and an MA in Political Economics from the University of Lucerne. He has experience working in development cooperation, in particular in the non-profit sector. Since 2016 he is a PhD candidate at Prof Dr. Manuel Oechslin’s Chair for International Economics. His research interests are development economics, international economics, sustainability, and macroeconomics. He currently works on projects in topics ranging from statistical capacity and corruption, the informal sector and poverty, to compliance with voluntary sustainability standards. Besides his research, he is a teaching assistant for Macroeconomics I and other related topics.
