Daniela Dyntar is an Epidemiolgist and Public Health Expert. She graduated in Human Biology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHzurich) and completed her PhD on ‘Diabetic Cardiomyopathy: effects of fatty acids and glucose’ at the ETHzurich and at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ). After working in molecular biology and tissue engineering she decided to focus on statistics, epidemiology and social medicine: she worked in community health of the Public Health Department of the City of Zürich as the scientist of the Stadtarzt and concurrently completed the Master in Public Health (MPH) with focus on epidemiology. Further positions brought her to environmental epidemiology at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute SwissTPH in Basel and currently to the Cancer Registry of Central Switzerland (LU/NW/OW/UR), located at the Kantonsspital Luzern, LUKS. Through a symposium of the national Childhood Cancer Registry she became involved with Prof. Gisela Michel and is now working additionally in her research group.
